Power Out? Blame the Cyber Miscreants! Inside NERC’s Grid Security Bootcamp

Who would win the Game of Grids? 250 participants flexed their cyber muscles at NERC’s ‘Electric Grid Security Exercise.’ From cyber attacks to physical vandalism, the threats against our power infrastructure are real and rising. But fear not, woolly jumper warriors, NERC’s commitment to keeping the lights on is brighter than ever!

Hot Take:

When the lights go out, it's not always a romantic candlelit dinner in the making. Sometimes, it's a bunch of cyber miscreants testing their hacking prowess on our power grid. The North American Electric Reliability Corp. (NERC) recently hosted a two-day 'grid bootcamp' of sorts, putting the power sector's emergency response to both physical and cyber attacks through the wringer. And with the rising number of human-related incidents, it seems there is no shortage of people trying to plunge us into an unexpected 'Earth Hour'.
